Domori S.p.A. is headquartered in None, on the outskirts of Turin, where its production facility is located. Since its inception in 1997, Domori has been a true revolution in the world of cocoa: it was the first chocolate company to use only fine cocoa, focusing on high quality. The first to produce chocolate with Criollo cocoa, the rarest and most prized of all. The first to control the supply chain from plantations, located in South America and Central America, and to have its own plantation that allowed it to restore Criollo cocoa biodiversity in the field. The first to rediscover and use an ancient and simple formula for dark chocolate: cocoa mass and sugar. The first to create a 100% Criollo chocolate bar. Today, Domori is part of the Polo del Gusto, the Illy Group holding company that encompasses all non-coffee activities, and besides being a leading company in the production of high-quality chocolate, it has become a distributor for Italy of a collection of excellent products: from Dammann Frères teas to Agrimontana jams, passing through the prestigious wines of Mastrojanni and Champagne Barons de Rothschild. In 2019, it also announced the signing of an agreement to acquire Prestat, one of the most beloved chocolate brands in the United Kingdom and a supplier to the British Royal Family. This acquisition allows Prestat to have access to the exclusive raw materials used by Domori and thus integrate control of the entire value chain into its production, “from bean to truffle.”

Thanks to its innovative approach and constant pursuit of excellence, Domori’s turnover now exceeds €20 million, and its products are sold in Italy and in major foreign markets. Since July 23, 2020, Domori has changed its legal name to Domori S.p.A. and has decided to become a Benefit Corporation. As a Benefit Corporation, the company intends to pursue common benefit objectives and operate responsibly, sustainably, and transparently towards individuals, communities, territories, and the environment, as well as cultural and social assets, entities and associations, and other stakeholders.

Trinitario cocoa is an aromatic cocoa and represents approximately 8% of the global crop. Trinitario is a hybrid of Criollo and Forastero cocoa, combining some of the aromatic and sensory characteristics of the former with the vigor and high yields of the latter. Domori has recovered this precious cocoa variety by purchasing it from plantations located in Latin America and Africa, particularly in Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Madagascar, and Tanzania.
Country and region of origin: Kilombero Valley in the Morogoro region. Located about ten hours by car from the main city of Dar es Salaam, operations are based in the village of Mbingu, near the beautiful Udzungwa Mountains National Park.

Tasting notes: dominant notes of cocoa and spices with a fruity finish.

Storage notes: the product should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from odors, at a temperature between 14°C and 20°C.
